China's machine tool industry enters a new development cycle
China Machine Tool Industry Association recently announced in Shanghai that in 2017, the total sales of China's metalworking machine tool market reached 29.9 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.5% over the previous year.
Mao Yufeng, executive vice chairman of the China Machine Tool Industry Association, believes that machine tools are one of the core industries of the equipment manufacturing industry and play an important leverage role in the global manufacturing resource allocation. In 2017, China's machine tool sales showed a significant recovery, indicating that driven by the structural upgrade, the Chinese machine tool industry is entering a new period of moderate growth, creating new development opportunities for domestic and foreign machine tool manufacturers.
According to statistics from the China Machine Tool and Tool Industry Association, in 2017, China realized 3.29 billion US dollars in metalworking machine tools and 8.47 billion US dollars in imports, a year-on-year increase of 11.4% and 16.3%; the trade deficit reached 5.45 billion US dollars, a significant increase of 33.5% year-on-year. This shows that with the acceleration of the structural upgrading of China's related manufacturing industries, the demand for advanced foreign machine tools has grown strongly.
In the field of tool measuring tools , in 2017, the total sales of the Chinese market reached 4.82 billion US dollars, an increase of 20.2% over the previous year. From the perspective of import and export, China ’s tool exports were 2.79 billion US dollars and imports were 1.81 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.1% and 21.5% year-on-year, an increase of 8.9 and 22.1 percentage points compared with 2016, respectively. The characteristics of restorative growth are more obvious, especially among them The sharp increase in the import of middle and high-end measuring tools was the most prominent.
Wang Liming, Secretary-General of China Machine Tool Industry Association, believes that as the new round of industrial revolution led by information interconnection on a global scale deepens, the manufacturing industry is experiencing the evolution from automation and digital manufacturing to collaborative and intelligent manufacturing. The global machine tool industry is facing All-round profound change. Nowadays, the machine tool industry is conducting research around key directions such as digitization, automation, Internet of Things and interconnection, and information big data to promote and realize intelligent manufacturing.
From April 9th to 13th this year, China Machine Tool Industry Association will host the 10th China CNC Machine Tool Exhibition in Shanghai. The total exhibition area of this exhibition has reached 120,000 square meters. So far, more than 1,200 machine tool industry manufacturers from 23 countries and regions have signed up for the exhibition, including more than 500 overseas exhibitors. 40%, an increase of nearly 5 percentage points from the previous session, indicating that overseas companies' attention and participation in the Chinese market has further increased.
